BGA display case features local artists

Oil paintings by Emilia Farrell

During the weeks the BGA is closed this summer, we will continue to bring you original artwork by local artists in our display case located on the first floor of the Homer Municipal Building.

Work by Belmont resident Emillia Farrell is currently featured. Farrell's oil paintings displayed are typical of her subject matter and style--sophisticated landscapes, portraits and still lifes, rendered in the style of the old masters. Emilia frequently captures scenes at familiar locations such as Habitat and Rock Meadow in Belmont as well as broad ocean and landscapes on the north shore. To hone her skills, she often studies works of the masters, as in the detail portrait study of Lord Ribblesdale, after John Singer Sargent.

Be certain to stop by the Homer Building when you're in the neighborhood to see this display. The BGA case is on the first floor--up just one flight of stairs, straight through the doors, on the left next to the Assessor's office.
