2 day workshop, Saturday, November 14 and 21
Photographing your own work is a skill any artist should learn. This practical workshop provides hands on training regarding how to photograph two and three dimensional works for slide and digital replication. You will learn the basics to help you photograph your work successfully, including: camera settings, lighting techniques, cataloging, sizing and post-production.
Cosponsored by the Belmont Gallery of Art (BGA) and the Belmont Media Center (BMC). November 14 session will be held at the BGA and November 21 session will be held at the BMC.
Instructor: Cynthia Hauk's work investigates contemporary issues such as modern ruins, the ephemeral and beauty found in decay. In her recent body of work, the juxtaposition of urban decay and faux decor' posits interesting questions regarding valued aestheticization and nostalgia. Cynthia has worked with many different art media including: painting, site-specific installations, and photography. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States (i.e., AZ, CO, FL, MA, NY, OH, and WA), as well as internationally in Florence, Italy. Cynthia is currently attending the Masters of Fine Arts program in Visual Arts at the Art Institute of Boston, and is a professional Photographer and Instructor.
