April 24-25, 2010  -  artist's application deadline March 1, 2010

Open Studios, where artists open their workplace to the public to view, discuss, and purchase their art, have a long tradition throughout neighborhoods and communicites in greater Boston. This spring, Watertown and Belmont join this tradition with the inaugural Watertown & Belmont Open Studios to be held April 24-25, 2010.

This inaugural event has been organized by a committee comprised of artists from both Watertown and Belmont, working in collaboration with representatives from the Arsenal Center for the Arts and the Belmont Gallery of Art. In addition to artists opening their studio spaces in these communities, some will present their work as visiting artists at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown while others will present together in various locations in both towns.

Artists participating in the Open Studios weekend will also be eligible to submit work to group exhibitions, one at the Belmont Gallery of Art (April 1-30, 2010) and one at the Arsenal Center for the Arts (April 15-May 28, 2010). Artists receptions for these shows will serve as kick-off celebrations to the Open Studios weekend.
