See You, See Me which features portraits by 46 regional artists (including 19 local Belmont aritsts), showcases work created in both traditional and representational styles, as well as more experimental approaches. Portraits, as defined by the show, should be a representation of a particular person or animal and should convey visual information about that someone in particular. The various media used in the works displayed includes drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, collage and mixed media.

All of the work featured in See You, See Me has a story behind it. Among the many unique portraits included in the exhibit is Belmont artist Iris Chandler’s lithograph based on a photograph of her husband taken during World War II and incorporating fragments of a letter he wrote one long winter night while caring for the sick and wounded during the Battle of the Bulge in Liege, Belgium.
